tWELCOME..
It gives me enormous pleasure to welcome everyone to this fantastic venue. Madine is, without question, one of the finest lakes in Europe and we are delighted to return once again to renew our acquaintance with you all and the lake’s magnificent carp.
Long hailed by all to be the spiritual
home of the Event, Lac de Madine holds a very special place in the minds of many and, as the adage goes, home is where the heart is.
It has been yet another incredible year
for Angling Spirit with an enormous amount going on.
I had huge pleasure in meeting a large
number of the great and good from the angling scene at shows all over the world and I’m very pleased to say that a good many new friendships were forged along the way.
This year, I am very proud to say,
Dynamite baits will once again join forces with industry giant Shimano as Global event partners. These great companies are being joined by new sponsors Plano, VMC Hooks, Karpela Cont and The American Tackle company, in addition to the other great sponsors that we have from previous years. As the event goes from strength to strength, year upon year, it naturally follows that so too does the interest from the associated trade. With an impressive portfolio of successful events behind it, the World Carp Classic has long since attracted interest throughout the entire year, both from outside and within the sport. In line with that attention, the World
Carp Classic global media platform has, of course, grown in accordance and is now at a level that no other carp-angling event has ever achieved before. This is very important for the anglers that will get crowned World Carp Classic Champions 2015, as they will be promoted all over the world.
The now traditional Qualifying events
have expanded to include Ukraine, Poland, UK, Czech Republic, The Netherlands and Sweden, in addition to the existing participating countries, which further ensures that there is focus upon the World Carp Classic, all year round. A very important new event has been
staged this year, we have worked with Jakub Vagner and his team in the Czech Republic to stage the first ever World
Carp Classic Junior event. The reason for running the event was to raise much needed funds for children suffering from acute leukaemia. There is a section in the magazine about this event and the great cause it promotes. Please take a moment to read this section reflect on others that are less fortunate.
As much as we loved our time in Italy
at the amazing Lago di Bolsena, we are very excited to be at the magnificent Lac de Madine again for the 2015 World Carp Classic. It really feels like the event’s back home as it was here, in 1998, when the event was first staged.
I would like to thank all of our Event
sponsors, Support Sponsors and, of course, our gracious hosts at Madine, every one of you who have contributed towards making this event possible and not least the hard working and diligent World Carp Classic Team. It cannot go without mention that the most important people in all of this are those taking part as competitors. This is your stage and once again we are all gathered here to share your excitement, live every moment with you as one to celebrate the occasion amid the electric atmosphere that you always generate. Without all of you, we would not be here today to celebrate yet another remarkable event.
