It has no effect on the bait; moreover, if the bait is light and floating, you can make it heavier by using several lead shot, or vice versa, if it is heavy, several foam balls will make it pop up. As for the size and the colour, the slogan of the project is ‘Welcome to the world of experiments!’ Fishing is a never-ending experiment, and even if we give recommendations and advice, fishermen find all sorts of new ways and techniques to use, based on their own experience.
CHRIS: Let us go back to the registration of the invention. Did a ‘sphere with holes’ really become a groundbreaking discovery for the 21st century?
VADIM: As I have already said, I researched and studied all the latest findings for almost 10 years in the field of fishing accessories, at the same time
experimenting with all possible shapes, colours and smells. When I understood that the container would be interesting not only for anglers of non- predatory fish, but also for those fond of catching predatory fish and keen on sea-fishing, then it was time to produce the Karpela Cont.
Mikhail Markov, my childhood friend and
I decided to patent this accessory and have it undergo international assessments to certify that it was a real innovation, meeting all criteria of an invention.
It is a slow and costly procedure, but it now
gets quite a friendly welcome abroad. Being the manufacturer, I feel proud making the packaging labeled with ‘Made in the Ukraine’, ‘Made in Russia’, instead of the more familiar ‘Made in China’. In all other countries it is manufactured under our license.
CHRIS: I know that anglers can be very conservative people. What was your colleagues’ reaction when you started demonstrating the universal container?
VADIM:Angling is a never-ending experiment. Even when the fishing is good, we keep trying different baits, experimenting with new combinations. The universal container is ideal for anglers who experiment. If you need to make a new recipe for boilies, boiling and drying will take much time and effort. But if you use the container, you do everything right on the bank. You can mix the most incredible ingredients, fill the container and all is done!
