Angling has defined my life, and having been an all-round angler for the first 25 years and a dedicated carp angler for well over 30 years since, you’d be correct to assume that there has been very little in the way of innovative angling related products that have escaped my attention.

That said, the sheer level of innovation

throughout that time has never ceased to amaze me… it has evolved immensely in that almost 60-year period. So, given my lifetime of fishing and

having owned my first boat in 1966 at the tender age of just 14 years old, it would be fair to suggest that I have been in the position to gain a reasonable level of knowledge across a fairly wide spectrum. As far back as I care to recall, I can

honestly say that there have been very few innovations that have impressed me to the extent that they have become ‘must have’

essentials, and perhaps only a handful of items would be termed as such. Sure, in this particular field, for a very

long time there has been a wide selection of feature-finding and navigation instruments on the market to choose from, and it’s fair to say that most are more than fit for purpose. However, the level of technology available for use in small boats, such as dinghies, has traditionally fallen some way short of what has been available in the non-portable devices. Until now, that is, having owned

and used various such aforementioned devices, I would suggest that the incredible Dragonfly7 has more than bridged that gap and it is now firmly included in that mere handful of benchmark, indisputably fantastic products on my ‘must have’ bucket-list. I would urge you, if you haven’t yet seen

the brilliant Dragonfly7 in action, to really make the effort and take a good, long, close

look at this seriously impressive high-end technology. You won’t have to look too far around the scene, either, to find positive reviews on this superb piece of kit and you can be assured that it will come highly recommended by some of the sports very top names. Raymarine have recently made

this incredible technology available to freshwater anglers, although it had been available to, and enjoyed by, saltwater anglers for some time previously. What I can say is, that unless you have either visited the Raymarine website (www. raymarine.co.uk) or you have been fortunate enough to have either used, or seen it in use, the Dragonfly7 is like nothing that you have ever seen before. In my wildest and most fanciful

dreams, I could never have conjured up a more perfect aid for my fishing and something that could provide the catalyst to impact my results emphatically. The
