Page 26 New Year – New You?

It’s a new year and without doubt, there will be so many people who will have resolved to lose weight. Clothes really aren’t fitting, you don’t feel like going shopping because you can’t find the clothes you want, you may even have a wardrobe full of clothes you’d love to get back into. You’d be surprised at how many women say they’d love to wear a certain dress because it brings back happy memories.

The thing is, most of those weight loss resolutions, will be broken within 2 weeks, leaving you feeling even more fed up with your weight.

I’m Nadine Heywood, and I specialise in not only the nutrition side of weight loss, but perhaps more importantly, the psychology of weight loss. How many times do you hear people saying “I just can’t get my head around something or other”. Well guess what, weight loss is no different, you have to get your head around it to (a) have the initial impact and (b) to sustain the new you!

It’s my passionate belief that too many people yo-yo diet and this is a direct cause of weight loss failure. In fact, I will never ever talk about “going on a diet”, for me “diet” has too many negative connotations.

As a trained psychotherapist for nearly 15 years, I know through personal education and experience that the way to sustainable weight loss is to change your thinking and habits, and that’s where I come in.

From the Moraira Therapy Centre, I offer several ways to interact, from residential one-to-one through to group work. In the majority of cases, joining a group with people who all have the same goal adds a peer dynamic and support infrastructure such that, as well as initial weight loss goals easily being reached in a friendly and supportive, and of course sympathetic environment, on-

going sustainable goals are also met. In short, people in my groups lose the weight, and keep it off. So in fact, it’s more than just weight loss, it’s actually about changing your life: regaining confidence, personal belief and self-esteem.

In fact the centre also offers courses on: confidence building, positive body image, yoga and juicing retreats and of course personal weight management.

I’ll also be starting weekly weight loss groups based from SolPark in Moraria. The groups are structured so that people go through established ‘modules’, based on ‘cognitive behaviour therapy’ – which means I work with you to help you get your head around losing weight and thus leading a more fulfilling life.

If you’re serious about losing weight in a life changing and sustainable manner, then the first step is a simple phone call to me, Nadine Heywood, on 965 020 730 or 634 301 346. We’ll have a friendly chat and start to figure out what you’re wanting to achieve, and then talk about the best framework in which I can help you achieve your goals. Be assured this initial consultation is completely free, totally confidential, and without obligation. If you prefer, you can email me on morairatherapycentre@outlook.com. I look forward to hearing from you.
