Ellipsis Ensemble from Italy to perform in L´Alfas Del Pi
Ellipsis Ensemble from Italy will perform in the Casa de Cultura, L,Alfas del Pi, on Saturday 17th January at 8pm in a concert organised by the Sociedad de Conciertos de Musica Clasica de L´Alfas del Pi (
www.alfasmusica.com). Tickets 10€ on the door.
The Ellipsis Ensemble was formed in Italy in 1990 as a chamber group dedicated to the performance of repertoire for piano and wind instruments, varying the number of members according to the programme. This unique group, formed by excellent musicians from Italy and Spain, has pursued a relentless international career, performing in the best European festivals (Avignon, Sardinia, ORFIM etc.) Its extensive repertoire includes Brahms, Schumann and Bernstein among others. The programme for this concert represents an extraordinary opportunity to hear two excellent and indispensable works from the repertoire, the Mozart and Beethoven Quintets for piano and wind instruments. The combination of woodwind and brass timbres with the subtlety of the piano gives this programme a special beauty.
U3A Denia Open Day
Our first effort at an Open Meeting may well turn into a pantomime. At least we intend for everyone to be entertained.
Most of the 30+ Groups have elected to have a ‘stand’ to show the uninitiated what they do. There will be chess and mah-jong taking place. Photos, and demonstrations of keep fit will be on the stage, plus a film of our trip to Elche. A Big Raffle is to be held in aid of our Good Cause, tickets will also be on sale on the day, and the draw will take place before we close. For those who have already paid their 6€ membership for 2015, membership cards can be collected at the meeting. The January Open Meeting of U3A Denia takes place at the Casa de Cultura, Denia, from 10am until 12:30pm on Thursday 15th January. Denise Bolton-Bottermann

Big Blue Cross clearance sale at Gata Charity Warehouse
All Blue Cross stock must go. From furniture, electricals, sofas, tables, and more....Everything has to go to make way for new stock. No sensible offer refused! Also, please donate your items for APAC .....we sell them, and all money raised goes directly towards the horses. We would really appreciate any items of food, carrots, apples, etc. Please bring to the Gata Charity Warehouse whatever food you can spare and we will get it to the horses.
