2014 CHARITY W

ith our head office based in York, this year we felt that we should offer support to a smaller, more local charity, and feel that there is none more

deserving than St Leonard’s Hospice. Founded in 1985 St Leonard’s cares for those with life threatening diseases, most commonly cancer. Through their work and their specially trained medical and nursing staff St Leonard’s offer in patient care, day care for those suffering who would like to socialise and get out of the house, as well as a hospice at home scheme for those that wish to stay in their own homes. All of this is offered for free. No charge

is ever made to patients or relatives, the running and work of the hospice is supported financially by the generosity of the local community, which is why we feel they are such a deserving charity. Their philosophy is to care for each

and every patient as an individual. This includes consulting them, as well

of the year

as their family, about their medical treatment; answering their questions honestly; treating them with dignity and sensitivity and caring for them as a whole, rather than caring for their illness, with compassion and understanding. We are delighted to be lending our support to St Leonard’s Hospice and raising money for such a worthy cause. As you will know Park Leisure has always had a strong charitable ethic, which has seen both directors and staff pushing themselves to the limit to raise money for our charities. Last year saw us raise an incredible amount for Macmillan Cancer Support and 2014 will be no different, as not only will our directors and head office staff be taking part in fundraising challenges but each of our parks will be holding events for you to get involved in throughout the year as well. If you would like to support our chosen

charity you can donate at any point throughout the year at: www.justgiving.com/Park-Leisure-2014

Thank you for your support
