Thank you to our contributors

Hattie Editor Now the dark evenings are behind us, I’m looking forward to getting out and enjoy the countryside again, hopefully without the need for my wellies!

As you can see all our contributors have been hard at work over the last couple of months to bring you another great issue of at your leisure. I’m sure you’ll join me in saying thank you as they’ve all done another fantastic job. Below they tell us about what they are looking forward to most about the arrival of spring;

Hannah - Head Office Spring has sprung for me already as I’ve signed up to several charitable races, meaning I’ve been out training. Although, I have to say I’m looking forward to not having to run in the dark and being able to enjoy something other than the dreary winter scenery once spring properly breaks through.

Sandra - Amble Links This year I have one or two things I have targeted for the New Year. The main one is to get my front garden design sorted and actioned! I’ll be doing all the work, from designing to digging the garden myself. The front garden is very small, but there is still a lot of work to put in. I’m so looking forward to the summer as the project should be completed and the front of my home will be looking fab!

Elouise - The Old Storehouse At the Old Storehouse we’re all looking forward to

welcoming back the owners, meeting new people and experiencing the fresh and vibrant new ideas that the chef and his team have produced, with the in season ingredients!

Andrew - Weardale Spring is one of my favourite times of the year. I really look forward to seeing all the leaves back on the trees with all the birds tweeting whilst I’m cutting the grass for the first time in the year! I also look forward to getting out to St James park to see the final matches of my favourite football team Newcastle.

Ray - The Crazy Bear It’s great at this time of year to see all the owners arriving back for another fantastic year at Heather View and The Crazy Bear. We’re delighted to have Sarah working with us full time at The Crazy Bear, she has a real SPRING in her step and is raring to go. We’ll also have a new menu in place which will have monthly seasonal specials along with some of our old favourites, we forward to seeing you all again very soon!

Karey - Yorkshire Dales As winter bids us farewell, the temperature start to rise and the sun

brightens our days a little longer, Mother Nature is letting us know that spring is soon upon us. To me spring is the season of rejuvenation and rebirth, everywhere around me becomes vibrant and alive; gardens explode with colour, leaves emerge from their buds and the countryside around me fills with dancing lambs. Spring marks the transition from winter to summer and with all of its new beauty replacing the dull, grey dark days of winter it’s my favourite time of year.

Lorna - Ribble Valley Spring will be spent helping my partner with lambing. Myself and my

children love seeing the new arrivals of spring, bottle feeding them and seeing them out in the fields jumping around. I also look forward to getting out and about in the countryside with the children, walks to the park and the usual holiday to my mums in the Isle of Skye.

Vicky - Par Sands As the new season approach’s and spring on its way this is a lovely

time of year to be on park. It’s great to see the ducklings and signets hatch out and watch them as the waddle around by the lake and explore the park. The park seems to come alive as the sun comes out and the holiday makers start to arrive to enjoy their time here at Par Sands.

Natalie - Oyster Bay The team at Oyster Bay are really excited with the new season being

here.

So is much going on as the next development and the leisure facility is under way, it’s definitely going to be an exciting couple of months. The flowers are starting to bloom too so the park is truly beginning to look beautiful, plus now we’ve got our own designated gardener who will be ensuring the grounds are always looking there best.

Iain - The New Inn Spring sees The New Inn making more changes as we prepare for our first full summer after the refurbishment last year. We are looking to convert our storeroom into an outside bar area, serving real ales, draught lager and cider as well as building a BBQ too. I literally cannot wait for the first signs of good weather to reach Cornwall! We will also see exciting changes to our menu as our Spring menu is designed to make the most of everything that is fresh, in season and locally sourced.
