INDUSTRY UNWRAPPED BOTTLING EQUIPMENT ORDER AT AWARD-WINNING BREWER

CBMS exhibited for the first time at this year’s SIBA exhibition where it showed its range of Chinese bottling and brewing equipment that is ideal for both microbrewers and larger brewers who wish to install a small line for new product launches. One of the first visitors to the CBMS stand was Keith Wright who founded the George Wright Brewing Company in 2003. Having won a number of brewing awards, not least Silver at the Great British Beer Festival competition, Keith decided to invest in a small bottling line to enable him to contract bottle 400 litre batch sizes from the very smallest of microbreweries. Following the show Keith placed an order with CBMS for a rinser/filler/crowner, 6/6/1, rated at 600 b.p.h. and a 500-litre beer carbonator with change parts for 330ml and 500ml bottles. As a semi automatic line the contract for CBMS also includes a hand loading station for empty bottles, all empty and full bottle conveyors and a hand loading station for filled bottles into pre-erected cartons. Richard Portman Director of CBMS said, “This was the first time that a UK audience were able to see the quality of the Huanyu range of bottling equipment. We received many leads from the show and the George Wright order was the first with other orders following during the course of the exhibition”.

X-RAY BOOSTS PRODUCT INTEGRITY

Loma’s flagship X⁵ x-ray inspection system incorporates new features which bring industry- leading levels of product integrity to the busiest of food packing lines, and peace of mind to retail suppliers.

Responding to user demands for ease of cleaning and reduced maintenance, the X⁵ x-ray system has been redesigned to deliver maximum uptime in round-the-clock manufacturing sites whilst identifying and rejecting the smallest contaminants. Retailer compliance demands the highest levels of cleanliness, and this is where the X⁵ really shines. The rounded, sloping surfaces of the system ensure that food particles and wash- down droplets cannot accumulate on its surfaces, unlike equipment with flat surfaces which can leave areas of potential contamination. Additionally, impermeable seals have been added to the x-ray cabinet to prevent water ingress. This means cleaning is both quick and effective, allowing packers to achieve significant savings in productivity whilst satisfying retailer mandates. A new tubular framework, made from high quality 304 grade stainless steel, is equally easy to clean and is robust to withstand harsh working conditions. In today’s challenging market-place, with food quality standards coming under increasing scrutiny, the Loma X⁵ X-ray inspection system allows users to achieve competitive advantage through increased productivity whilst satisfying the most demanding of retailer QA mandates.
