ADVERTORIAL
The new Viscofi ll product family from Krones has been conceived specifi cally for fi lling liquid foods. It is based on the classical piston fi ller’s dosing principle: in a rotary-type process, the piston featuring an appropriately defi ned diameter is drawn back in its cylinder, a movement executed by means of cams, so that the volume to be fi lled is sucked into the dosing cylinder from a product funnel located centrally in the carousel, and pushed out into the waiting containers. This fi lling process is as ultra-accurate as it is ultra-dependable, and particularly well suited for handling highly viscous products, and those containing large chunks or high particle concentrations. Depending on the application concerned in each case, the client can choose the model best suited to his needs among three different versions: V, S, or H. No matter whether you are fi lling
glass bottles, jars, cans or plastic
containers, the Viscofi ll is able to handle a multiplicity of rigid containers generally used in the sector.
VISCOFILL V
This rotary fi lling system marries the tried-and-tested classical piston-fi lling principle with some innovative dosing technology: the dosing volume is set automatically by the length of the piston’s travel, which is specifi ed in the control system. What’s new, however, is that vertical (V) 180° rotary valves are used to switch over from the cylinder-charge to the cylinder-discharge phase, instead of the conventional horizontal rotary-slide technology. The dosing unit is fi tted with a product-discharge unit and a cutting unit, thus ensuring ultra-accurate, low- drip dosing of sensitive and chunky product constituents. In particular, this makes for gentle fi lling of low- to high-viscosity products, which may also contain large chunks of up to 40 mm. By virtue of the vertical rotary-valve technology and the use of the Integrated Dismantling System (IDS), this piston-based dosing system can be cleaned fully automatically, without any manual intervention. Typical applications for the Viscofi ll V include the fi lling of jams containing whole fruits, for example, of pet food with meat chunks, or of baby food with chunks of fruit, vegetables, meat or noodles.
THE NEW VISCOFILL PRODUCT FAMILY IS PARTICULARLY WELL SUITED FOR HANDLING HIGHLY VISCOUS PRODUCTS, AND THOSE CONTAINING LARGE CHUNKS OR HIGH PARTICLE CONCENTRATIONS.
VISCOFILL – THE FOOD FILLER FROM KRONES VISCOFILL S
This innovative rotary dosing system combines the fi eld-
proven principle of the classical piston fi ller with state-of- the-art seat (S) valve technology: the dosing volume is set automatically by the length of the piston’s travel, which is specifi ed in the control system. Charging the cylinder with product, and pushing it out again, however, are controlled by two individually switchable pneumatic valves. This version does entirely without conventional rotary-valve technology, and is particularly well suited for fi lling products exhibiting widely different degrees of viscosity, also containing cuttable constituents measuring up to 10 mm. Thanks to the fl exibility of the valve technology employed, and to the anti-drip function, highly viscous but also thread-forming products can be fi lled to optimum effect. The dosing units feature pneumatic functions which means they can be cleaned fully automatically, without any manual interventions. Typical products for handling on the Viscofi ll S include liquid and paste-like confectionery, baby food, dairy products, dressings and condiments sauces.
VISCOFILL H
In this technically sophisticated piston-fi lling system, the dosing volume is set automatically by the length of the piston’s travel, which is specifi ed in the control system. Charging the cylinder with product, and pushing it out again, are in this version controlled by means of horizontal (H) rotary valves. The Viscofi ll H can be integrated into an automatic CIP cleaning routine. Please note that for optimum cleaning results the rotary valves should be removed. This hard-wearing, fi eld- proven dosing technology makes for ultra-accurate, low-drip fi lling of a wide range of different products, like gravies, sauces, dressings, bread spreads, ready-to-eat meals or edible oils. The products involved can contain cuttable constituents of up to 15 mm in size. The use of variable discharge nozzles, in particular, turns the Viscofi ll H into a fl exible, cost-effi cient dosing system for an ultra-wide range of applications.
