World Radiography packages were sent worldwide, including Ontario, Canada. “It was much appreciated and used to its full advantage during our MRT/MRS Week and on 8 November,” says Stacey Noppen.
“We had an article in our local newspaper with technologist information and a community thank you for fundraising campaigns for our new DR equipment, portable and general radiography units.”

WRD is celebrated as a ‘day of reflection and commitment’ in the cardiac catheter labs at Leeds General Infirmary,” says specialist radiographer Sadaqat Ali. “It has helped us to reflect on our practice and what we need to do to make improvements in our quality services.
“The uniqueness of the event receives great appreciation from non-radiographic multi-disciplinary team including cardiologists, staff nurses, anaesthetists, cardiac physiologists and ODPs. It also gives us the opportunity to introduce our profession in detail to our colleagues.”
The medical imaging team at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital Winchester celebrated with multiple displays and posters around the the department and the wider hospital. The displays gave interesting facts and figures about radiography and the important role it plays. Patients and staff were encouraged to ask questions and were given information about radiography as a career.

“We dressed up our department skeleton for display,” says Mahnaz Afzal. “The event attracted lots of people, students answered questions from the public and it was a fun day and happy day for all.”
