The radiology team at Birmingham Children’s Hospital proudly threw open its doors to staff, inpatients and parents. Dozens turned out to visit the department, meet the team and find out more about what they do. Guests were treated to a tour of the department and took part in a number of activities including an opportunity to see what the bones in their hands look like. They also received an overview of the exciting developments of making PACS the single access point for all types of imaging.
Goodies such as free stickers, badges and chocolate were given out, as well as advice for those contemplating a career in radiology.
Radiology professional manager Tom Lowbridge used the day as an opportunity to launch the team’s @ BCHRPM twitter account as a way of promoting the profession, help people to understand what radiology is all about and also give patients/families a way of communicating directly with the team via Tom.
Lincoln County Hospital held its celebrations on Saturday 9 November, demonstrating the different aspects of radiography to interested students. It was a very successful day, with lots of enthusiastic guests attending.
Students at the Medway Campus of Canterbury Christ Church University BSc radiography course.
