Lee and Helen Elliott opened City Carpets, on Cardiff Road opposite Belle Vue Park, on Saturday May 11. Newport’s mayor and mayoress, John and Joyce Guy, offi cially declared City Carpets open at the launch event.

potential at this premises, which had currently been closed for the past fi ve years. Lee told Voice: “I had been looking for the right


location for a shop in the city centre for quite some time. “When I fi nally found this shop, I instantly knew that
