Rosen Launches iDOC+ Media Center
Rosen Electronics has launched its newest com- ponent option for the incredibly successful AV7900 component-based headrest entertainment system. The “Made For iPod” iDOC+ Media Center provides an integrated docking port for many popular Apple media and smartphone devices, including the iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4, 4S, iPod Touch 4 and the iPod Classic GEN 6 plus support for 16 GB USB flash drives and Micro SD cards. The beauty of the iDOC+ Media Center is its ability to take stored media and easily play it on rear facing dual 7-in. LCD displays mounted in matching factory headrests while providing charging and the ability to seamlessly connect to the vehicle’s audio system. “The AV7900 TM is the ultimate in headrest enter- tainment systems and a major advancement in rear-seat entertainment,” said Steve Weimar, Rosen vice presi- dent, sales and marketing. “The unique aspects of this system are the tablet look of the high-def digital LCD monitors and its ability to be configured specifically for the customers needs and even modified after the initial installation. There are six unique system configurations: 1) dual-DVD, 2) single DVD, 3) single DVD with iDOC+, 4) dual iDOC+, 5) single iDOC+ and 6) dual monitors. Each head rest includes 50 built-in video games with a wireless controller and an all-channel FM transmitter.”
The unique “quick-change” capability is the brain- child of Rosen’s in-house engineering team based in Corona, California. Each main component option can be ordered separately or as a complete system depending on the vehicle owners’ specific needs. High-def and digi- tal LCD displays, DVD mechanisms and the iDOC+ Media Center option are all independent of each other and simply snap into the Rosen replacement headrests. “With the vast majority of vehicle owners and their
children owning an iPod, iPod Touch or iPhone, we felt the need to provide a suitable in-vehicle option for their mobile devices while allowing others in the vehicle to share in those entertainment capabili- ties,” states Weimar. The AV7900TM has many additional Rosen- engineered and exclusive features, including matching factory-styled headrests (canted slightly forward to meet all current FMVSS regulations), system expandability (includes A/V outputs for two additional monitors, one additional source unit and the ability to bypass the FM trans- mitter and hard wire directly to the vehi- cle’s audio system), integrated all-channel wireless FM transmitter to play through the audio system and more. A pair of two- channel wireless fold-flat headphones are also included along with a wireless game
