MISSION STATEMENT The mandate of the CCDA is to encourage the future business development of the downtown, to promote the downtown as a destination shopping and service area, and to help facilitate the sustainability of new and existing business in the downtown area.
The spirit and determination of the CCDA remains strong, and continues to grow, promote and focus our efforts on the beautiful downtown business community. And it is going to get more beautiful in the future, more about that shortly.
Over the course of the last 12 months the dedicated CCDA Board of Directors with Lorraine Dalla-Longa in the chair have
worked hard at getting a full compliment of members and restructuring the board into well organized pro active committee’s in the following area’s, Governance, Development, Promotions and the Monarch Theatre. Along with the standing Executive and Finance committee’s the CCDA is moving along rapidly to achieve our goals.
As always events will be ongoing downtown from Easter (the egg hunt) until November (midnight madness) Spectrum this year will be bigger and better than ever with even more exposure to the downtown core. Of course all the relevant information can be found on our new and vibrant web site (
www.downtownmedicinehat.com) which is always being updated with information regarding what is available, when and
where. And of course the Monarch Theatre continues to grow, is always available for events and continuing to show all the latest blockbusters in a relaxing spacious atmosphere. All the listings and planned events for the Monarch can also be found on the CCDA web site along with the contact information for you to book your own events.
Our professional and friendly business owners welcome you with open arms and go the extra mile to make your shopping, dining and business experience something you will remember in downtown Medicine Hat. Want to see the future of downtown, then I encourage you to monitor closely the work that is to be done on the 600 block of 2nd ST and the transformation
that will occur. I promise, you will not be disappointed.
So lets have a great summer, parking you say! lots all around within a short and healthy walk which enables you to enjoy all that downtown has to offer.
Just so you know anyone from the community can attend our board meeting’s to present any accolades, concerns or suggestions they might have, always a slot open at the end of the meeting .
