The front speaker setup that Scion used in the FR-S is a stripped-down version of the setup that Toyota uses in the Lexus GS and LS sedans: 3-way speaker setup in the front, 2-way in the rear and subwoofer. Except in the FR-S there is NO subwoofer and no Mark Levinson multi-channel am- plifier (there is no amp at all in the FR-S; all speakers run on deck power). The midrange speaker and the tweeter are on the top corners of the dash and the mid bass drivers are in the front doors.

In the rear side panels are 3-inch midrange and tweeter combos which have almost no output because of their small size and the fact that they are just sitting on a metal bracket with no kind of enclosure.
