man in my life I would not be where I am today. Next is my wife Stephanie. She has seen it all in the 14 years we have been together. She has seen me work 60 hours straight, get laid off, be pissed off, and has been part of my highs and lows in this industry. She has stuck by my side through everything. Without her and my girls, I would have given up a long time ago! My mother was there in the very beginning. She pushed me to follow my
dreams. She was always my biggest fan. I had a few dads growing up (long story), but each had a different influence on me as well they making sure I followed a straight road.
ME: If you weren’t in the car stereo in-
dustry, what would you be doing? Carlson: I’ve thought about that a lot
in my career. Anyone who knows me knows that I run a CNC router a lot. If
I had to choose another line of work, it would somewhere in the CAD or CNC router prototyping areas.
ME: Of all the jobs you’ve performed, which best epitomize the level of creativ- ity, focus and attention to detail that you employ in your work? Carlson: That is a tough question with 20 years of work. There are a few that stand out. As far as creativity, it would
