1914. Yuruk plainweave and kelim long panel, probably Malatya region, south east Anatolia early 20th century, 13ft. x 4ft.8in. 3.96m. x 1.42m. Woven in two equal sections joined vertically down the centre. £70-100


1916. Bergama rug, west Anatolia early 20th century, 6ft.8in. x 4ft.1in. 2.03m. x 1.25m. Overall uneven wear. On the reverse of the lower plain weave, there is an inscription woven in white cotton which includes the date ‘1.23.47’. This may refer to an anniversary or the date of a gift but we feel that the rug is somewhat older and therefore the date is unlikely to refer to the time the piece was woven. £70-100


1918. Attractive Hereke silk rug, west Anatolia about 1950, 2ft.9in. x 2ft.4in. 0.84m. x 0.71m. This charming rug has an unusual and restrained palette of green and shades of cream and beige. £200-250


Lot 1919 Lot 1915


1915. Erzurum kelim, east Anatolia about 1900 13ft.6in. x 5ft.11in. 4.12m. x 1.80m. Three substantial holes lower end, loss upper end centre, both ends ragged with losses. Woven in two equal sections joined down centre. And a Malatya kelim, east Anatolya about 1900, 8ft.8in. x 4ft.5in. 2.64m. x 1.35m. Overall uneven wear, corrosion and damage in several places, mainly down centre, both ends ragged with losses. (2) £100-150


Lot 1917


1917. Central Anatolian long rug, Karapinar region about 1930, 12ft.4in. x 4ft.10in. 3.76m. x 1.47m. Five holes in centre, areas of wear. A Fragment of a Konya long rug, central Anatolia early 20th century, 7ft.3in. x 2ft.9in. 2.21m. x 0.84m. Holes, wear. Cut at lower end and missing main border right side. And two Bergama rugs, west Anatolia about 1930, 4ft.9in. x 3ft.7in. 1.45m. x 1.09m. and 4ft. x 3ft.3in. 1.22m. x 1m. The smaller with holes and loss to lower left corner. (4) £50-100


1919. Good Aydin kelim, west Anatolia 19th century, 8ft.10in. x 5ft.1in. 2.69m. x 1.55m. Slight damage one end, heavy corrosion to dark brown in places, small stain opposite end. A kelim with splendid colour and elegant ‘drawing’. Woven in two sections joined vertically in centre. £300-400
