2048. Attractive Quchan Kurd rug, Khorasan, north east Persia, late 19th/early 20th century 8ft. 7in. x 3ft. 11in. 2.62m. x 3ft. 11in. Overall even wear; crease mark to lower left field. £300-400
2050. An unusual and attractive rug by the Shekarlu taifeh of the Qashqa’i Confederation, Boyr Ahmad va Kohgiluyeh or Fars, south west Persia late 19th century, 8ft.1in. x 5ft.1in. 2.46m. x 1.55m. Overall uneven wear, losses and damage to both sides and ends, small hole lower left corner of field. The field has a most unusual design for a Shekarlu rug - indeed, it is perhaps closer to some rugs by the Arab Chepanlu tireh of the Sheshboluki taifeh and others by the Kashkuli taifeh; the so-called Qashqa’i emblem on the present rug is very similar in its complexity to some found on Kashkuli rugs. However, the main border design on the present rug is one associated exclusively with the Shekarlu while some of the attractive ‘filler’ ornaments on the dark blue central field are also redolent of the Shekarlu. £200-400

Two Shahsavan sumac and plainweave mafrash fragments, made into bags/cushions, both north west Persia, early 20th century, 2ft.1in. x 3ft.5in. 0.64m. x 1.04m., the second with unrelated sumac band added, overall 2ft. x 3ft.8in. 0.61m. x 1.12m. Together with a Yuruk cicim panel, east Anatolia early 20th century, 3ft.7in. x 2ft.3in. 1.09m. x 0.69m. Slight uneven wear, small holes. Sold as a collection with all faults (3)
