1759. Attractive silk pulkhari, probably Punjab region, now Pakistan, early to mid 20th century, 103in. x 59in. 262cm. x 150cm. Woven in three vertical strips of equal width. The delightful section at the outer edge of the left hand section, with its multi-coloured diamond motifs, shows signs of slight wear and may have been used as a head covering if, as was often the case, this pulkhari was used as a shawl. £100-200


1762. Two Pakistani silk embroidered men’s wedding tunics, white cotton grounds with deep pink embroidery Swat Valley, northern Pakistan, 20th century. One with extensive colour run, the other with some wear to three or four of the silk blossom motifs. (2) £80-100

1765. A good collection of Banjara embroidered cotton money belts, purses, squares, etc., some embellished with shells and shisha work, south India, early to late 20th century. Sold as a collection with all faults not subject to return. (12) £300-500

1760. Three Kantha embroideries, embroidered in a form of running stitch in polychrome cotton on a textured undyed cotton ground, the texturing caused by all over stitching. Bangladesh or west Bengal, 20th century. And an Indian dowry bag, in cotton embroidery and shisha work on an undyed cotton ground, Rajasthan, north India, 20th century. (4) £80-120

1763. Fine Himalayan striped silk panel, Bhutan, 20th century, 81in. x 52in. 205cm. x 132cm. Woven from three equal strips joined vertically. £100-200


1766. Interesting miscellaneous group of textiles, including examples in silk, wool or cotton from Indonesia, Bikaner, Swat Valley, Tunisia, West Africa, a 19th century embroidered towel in silk on mixed cotton and linen, probably Brusa, west Anatolia, a silk ikat panel from the Royal Workshops in Cambodia about 1940 and a 19th century English panel of cut silk velvet. 1767. Three plaited African belts with coins, and two groups of tassels, one with a large group of excavated copper and other metal bangles. Probably 20th century of earlier, the metal bangles of unknown age. One belt has inset a Maria Theresa Austrian silver coin of 1780.
