CARE AND PROTECTION FOR THE SKIN: SYMRISE HIGHLIGHTS SKIN FRIENDLY SOLUTIONS AT IN-COSMETICS 2012
Key benefits of cosmetic ingredients are how they care for and protect people’s skin. To help producers enhance their skincare products, Symrise has devel- oped a series of solutions, which it will present at this year’s in-cosmetics in Barcelona. Activities will center on skin-friendly preservative solutions and cooling agents and applications for sun protection will support the trade show’s Solar Beauty Trail.
Preservative SymOcide® PS and multifunctional Hydrolite® range SymOcide® PS is a broad-spectrum preservative system for versatile use. It helps to keep the amount of preservatives needed for formulations to a minimum and helps to avoid the use of parabens and formaldehyde donors. To also increase the preservative efficacy of mild organic acids such as potassium sorbate and dehydro- acetate, Symrise offers a range of boosting ingredients such as SymDiol® 68, SymTriol® and the Hydrolite® range of products.
Cooling with Frescolat® products The active ingredient Frescolat® X-cool gives skin care products an instant and long-lasting cooling effect. It provides an intense sensation of freshness in leave-on and rinse-off applications used in face and body care, sun protection and shaving. Frescolat® X-cool is a further addition to Symrise’s portfolio of cooling ingredients, which encompasses Frescolat® ML, Frescolat® ML nat., Frescolat® ML cryst. and Frescolat® MGA.
Solar Beauty Trail
Symrise will also be co-operating with in- cosmetics in its Solar Beauty Trail, a special feature where visitors are guided through all of the aspects of sun care that are currently of relevance. The ‘sun’ icon will help visitors to identify Solar Beauty Trail
participants in the show catalogue, at the booth and elsewhere. A Sun Care Kit from Symrise includes a clear spray for wet skin, a transparent sunscreen stick, a blue sun- screen lotion with a silky texture and a light turquoise balm with a sorbet like texture. All of the products are easy to apply and provide a pleasant and sometimes fresh skin sensation. They contain a number of high-quality ingredients from Symrise, including SymHelios® 1031, SymSol® PF-3, Dragoxat® 89, SymMollient® S, Hydrolite® 5, Frescolat® X-cool and SymSitive® 1609.
In addition to products in these focus areas, Symrise will also be showcasing a collection of newly developed anti-aging ingredients, botanicals and other recently launched products.
Sym3DTM , SymFitTM and SymFitTM 1617, Nat. 1750
One of the most critical features demanded of an anti-aging product is the ability to improve the appearance of the skin. Sym3DTM
is designed to help increase the
lipid content in the subcutis, plump the lips and the cheeks and erase wrinkles from inside. Its efficacy has been proven in several clinical tests, whereas SymFitTM and SymfitTM
Nat. 1750 are potent, multi-
functional actives which have been proven to even the cutaneous relief and thus to reduce cellulite in several clinical tests.
Extrapone® Waters Collection Many cultures consider pure water to be a symbol of health, youth and eternal beauty. Symrise has traveled the world to identify unique water sources. From refreshing and revitalizing concepts to purity or more emotional approaches such as balance and wellness, water is the perfect ally for beauty care concepts. Waters from glaciers, clouds, volcanic springs and more have been included in the portfolio to enrich
Symrise’s Botanicals Range, allowing consumers to immerse themselves in pure and precious waters from around the world.
SymSol® PF-3 To give cosmetics a smooth and homo- geneous texture, some of their components need to be solubilized. SymSol® PF-3, a PEG-free solubilizer, helps lipophilic substances, such as perfume, essential oils, actives and vitamins mix with pure aqueous and aqueous/alcoholic formulations. Main areas of application are cosmetic products including hair and body care as well as gels, wet wipes, after shaves and fragrances.
SCoutech The efficacy of anti-aging or anti-cellulite products, for example, needs to be proven in various tests. SCoutech, an alliance of Symrise and Cutech, offers various screen- ing services for skin and hair. One of its unique tools is a highly comprehensive ex vivo skin model that enables high-quality, validated screening of both individual raw materials and finished products. New assays for efficacy testing of anti-cellulite products are now available.
