DNA Protection (Comet Assay) The comet assay, also called the ‘single cell gel electrophoresis’, is a technique with very high sensitivity towards DNA damage and repair at the level of single cells. The comet assay or single cell gel electrophoresis assay is based on the alkaline lysis of labile DNA at sites of damage. It is one of the most popular tests for detection of DNA damage by electrophoresis in recent years.

(HS-68) treated with Vitamin C and its derivatives for 24 hours. As shown in Table 4, Corum 9515 has high efficiency in protecting damaged DNA.
Ex- vivo Melanin Assay
This method is designed to assess the potential of a test material to induce changes in tissue pigmentation, using an in vitro tissue model of the human epidermis prepared from cultured human keratinocytes and melanocytes. The results are presented in Figure 3. 3% Corum 9515 has an excellent effect on skin brightening.

tone was observed. The results are presented in Figures 4 and Table 5.
Figure 2.
Undamaged DNA retains a highly organised association with matrix proteins in the nucleus. When damaged, this organisation is disrupted. The individual strands of DNA lose their compact structure and relax, expanding out of the cavity into the agarose. The intensity of the comet tail relative to the head reflects the number of DNA breaks. Damaged DNA has a longer tail. Figure 2 shows the different human fibroblast cells

In-vivo skin lightening efficacy A 28-day skin lightening test was carried out by SPINCONTROL France on 20 healthy Asian females, aged between 25-40 years old with skin type III. A significant improvement in the brightening of skin

The New Water-Soluble Vitamin C Derivatives - Corum 9515
Corum 9515, Ethyl Ascorbic Acid is a Vitamin C derivative consisting of a conventional Vitamin C structure and an additional ethyl group, which makes this new type of raw material stable for use in cosmetic products. Corum 9515 is effective on melanin inhibition, stimulation of collagen synthesis, DNA protection and skin lightening. Corum 9515 also provides excellent stability to a variety of formulations, e.g. skin lightening, anti-ageing and sun/skin care products.
