PRODUCT INNOVATIONS

Bayer Garden boosts branding with

new packaging “Many gardeners don’t know the link between some of the most popular gardening products, including Provado Ultimate Bug Killer, Bio Slug and Snail Killer and Super Strength Glyphosate,” says Bayer Garden. To help them, the company behind these products, has invested in developing new and consistent packaging, which is being introduced in 2012 and which that will establish a ‘family’ presence across its range of products. The new packaging presents a more cohesive ‘look and feel’ across Bayer Garden’s products irrespective of their category. Colin Golding, head of marketing at Bayer Garden explained, “We know it can be very difficult for consumers to get to grips with the volume of products designed to tackle pests, diseases and weeds. Our research shows that if it’s not apparent almost instantly whether or not the product in question will tackle the challenge in their mind, they often leave frustrated and disappointed. We want to help.” 8For more information call 0845 345 4100 or visit www.bayergarden.co.uk

Energy saving

warewasher solutions In recent years garden centres and farm shops have expanded way beyond their initial remit of small shops selling plants , with many adding a café/restaurant. Winterhalter has pioneered energy-efficient, green technology for warewashers, to support the backroom operations of such expansions and enable retailers to boost their eco credentials. It is offering a suite of

resource-saving ideas, brought together under the umbrella of irt (Intelligent Resource Technology). The UC Energy designs include a new, compact, circulating air heat exchanger that is able to recover heat efficiently in small spaces. The heat exchanger extracts the energy from the warm, humid water vapour inside and uses it to heat the incoming cold fill, reducing energy consumption by 0.1 kWh per cycle. 8For more information call 01908 359000, email info@winterhalter.co.uk or visit www.winterhalter.co.uk
