¥ Abu Dhabi International Airport welcomed nearly 11 million pas- sengers in 2010, up 12.2 percent compared with the previous year

¥ Abu Dhabi International Airport is the base of the national carrier, Etihad Airways, which operates a fleet of 54 aircraft and serves 64 destinations in 42 countries
¥ A new extended terminal facility, dubbed the Midfield Terminal Complex, will have the capacity to handle 40 million passengers per annum and is expected to be complete in 2012

AL AIN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ¥ Al Ain International Airport, Abu Dhabi's second air gateway, was launched in early 1994
¥ Originally built to serve 320,000 passengers a year, the airport has recently undergone develop- ments that include the expansion of the main terminal building to handle more flights, the opening of a new cargo terminal, and the installation of a catering building
¥ The airport currently handles six airlines: Royal Jordanian, Air India Express, Pakistan International Airlines, Ariana Airlines, Shaheen Air International, and Oman Air
¥ The airport is also the venue for the annual international aerobatics air show
