Gold Award for Icon’s work at the FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa

Icon, a global leader in event branding and production, received recognition for its work when they collected the Gold Award and trophy in the Event Look category at the 4th International Sports Event Management Awards. The award came as a result of the company’s work on the Look Programme for FIFA LOC at this year’s highly successful World Cup in South Africa. In the words of the judges, Icon’s work for

the event was deemed ‘to have most effectively captured the spirit, inside and outside its venues’. When making their selection, the judges considered the spectator view of the event within the stadium and its surrounding environment. Icon, which has established an operation

in South Africa, worked closely with its partners on behalf of FIFA LOC to provide the overall event look and feel. This included stadium dressing and wayfinding at all the match venues as well as event branding for the transportation network and at various non-competition venues throughout the country.
