Family owned PF Signs making plans for future

PF Signs is a family owned business, set up by Managing Director Pat Fagan in 1987. Originally based in Liverpool city, expansion led to the company

moving out to nearby Knowsley with its excellent access to travel networks for distribution. PF Signs has a mixed customer base users including local,

national and European businesses. Its most popular products are health and safety signs, road signs and construction signage. The company regularly supplies health and safety signs to France and is a Preferred Supplier to AMCO Group, which encompasses property, rail, energy and engineering sectors, as well as exploratory boring services across West Africa. In addition it provides signage to Skyline Scaffolding, Merseyside Scaffolding, Reed Brothers Haulage and Allied Mills. Impressive for any sign company, but even more so when you realise Pat has a team of only three employees.

“Quality not quantity is what matters. We ensure that everyone

works to the highest standard, that’s why each employee has a relevant sign making qualification. This makes certain that, from design to installation, our customers are receiving the best service,” says Pat. “Our customers are at the heart of everything we do. They

choose PF Signs because of our quality, and fast turnaround with a guarantee to work to their timescales and their budgets (large or small) with no extra hidden costs. We listen to customers, are accessible 24 hours a day, and invest in the latest technology.”

The most challenging part of a job can be the

British weather, says Pat. “For example, as you can see from the photo of

Allied Mills (left) it’s a large concertina shaped building, making it impossible to scale directly on to. We had to use skillets to achieve this and with poor weather conditions, it became a real challenge. Similarly, the large sea ships, such as DFDS. However, we overcame this to the satisfaction of Hardacres and Smith Marine Ship Painters and Shot Blasters with who we have an excellent, long standing relationship.” Developing close, personal and long lasting

relationships with customers helped minimise the impact of the recent recession for PF Signs and means Pat is busy planning for future development. “We’re planning to expand into the growing

vehicle wrapping market. Currently, we’re training employees in this area and are in the process of investing in technology to support this,” says Pat. For further information, visit the website www.pfsigns.co.uk or telephone 0151 480 8840.
