The Formula 1 season is well under way now, but is it the same as when we had the excitable Murray Walker in the commentary box ? His last TV commentary on Formula 1 was at the United States Grand Prix at Indianapolis in 2001. This is an interesting circuit because it has inclines - and not just up but down as well.


He’s in front of everyone in this race except the two that are in front of him.


This would have been Senna’s third win in a row had he won the other two.


Do my eyes deceive me or is Senna’s Lotus sounding rough. We now have exactly the same situation as we had at the start of the race, only exactly the opposite.


And now the boot is on the other Shumacher. With half of the race gone, there is half of the race still to go. Mansell is slowing down, taking it easy. Oh no he isn’t, it’s a lap record.


I imagine that the conditions in those cars today are totally unimaginable.


Stewart have two cars in the top five, Magnusson fifth and Barrichello sixth.


The European drivers have adapted to this circuit very quickly, especially Paul Radisich who’s a New Zealander.


You couldn’t make it up.
