UPDATE: The latest news from SPATA and BISHTA
FOLLOWING THE RECENT ROUND OF BOARD, COUNCIL AND COMMITTEE MEETINGS THERE ARE VARIOUS UPDATES TO PROVIDE TO MEMBERS. THESE CHANGES ARE USUALLY NOTIFIED TO BISHTA AND SPATA MEMBERS VIA THEIR RESPECTIVE ELECTRONIC NEWSLETTER SENT OUT EVERY WEEK. SOME OF THE ITEMS NOT MENTIONED ELSEWHERE IN THIS EDITION ARE INCLUDED BELOW
BSPF BOARD
The nominations for the new Junior Vice President are currently being sought and it is hoped to have a SPATA installer member in place for September 2010. Anyone interested in putting themselves forward please contact the BSPF office.
BISHTA ON THE ROAD
BISHTA Road Shows have been held around the country, with key messages about BISHTA and the value of the association to its current and potential members. The shows have been combined with Water Hygiene Management training.
INTRODUCTION BONUS
BISHTA has decided to have a ‘Member Get Member‘ scheme for companies that are new to BISHTA. The offer is subject to the terms and conditions of the scheme, but in summary, an existing member that successfully introduces a new fee paying member into BISHTA can earn a reduction on their membership fee of £50 and can reduce the fee for the new member in their first year by £50 as well!
SPATA NATIONAL COUNCIL
The AGM is Tuesday 14 September. A training session is due to be undertaken on customer training and a session on successful bid writing is being negotiated.
PIP COMMITTEE ROUNDUP
Alex Kemsley from the PIP committee has provided support to BISHTA and SPATA by installing a website Content Management System (CMS). This will allow greater flexibility for the updates to be made within the office and with other changes such as hyperlinks from the BISHTA or SPATA sites to the individual members’ own sites this will help the customer find a suitable member more easily and should generate greater profile for the Trade Association sites. Promotional items are a great way to raise the profile of a company that is a Trade
Association member and so PIP has been liaising with BISHTA and SPATA to identify any useful items that could be of value to members. Any ideas that you may have on this issue would be most welcome. A variety of articles are being followed up in publications such as Traditional Homes & Interiors, with a May edition focusing on swimming pools and a June edition planned to feature hot tubs and swim spas. There is also interest in the County Life magazines for articles and this is being followed up with members in the relevant counties.
