Topline Electronics were so pleased with the 2010 exhibition that they have taken the unprecedented decision to extend their prize draw offer to not one but seven TEC 3000 controllers. The easy to operate, amperometric free chlorine and pH controllers with colour touch screen displays are aimed at domestic and light commercial users and have been designed, as always, in house with all components sourced from within the UK, and assembled by Topline in their new premises in Hailsham, East Sussex.

“We are proud that our products are all designed in house, all components are sourced locally and all assembly takes place in Hailsham, truly made in England.” The lucky winners of the TEC 3000 controllers are, J C Leisure, Asher Swimming Pools, The London Swimming Pool Company, John Preston Pools and Spas, CLS, Brookforge and Alba Pools.

Martin Baulcombe and Matt Roberts of Topline Electronics will be ensuring the lucky recipients take personal delivery of their prizes.

Kleen Pool, the biggest selling algaecide in the UK has something extra to celebrate this year – its 25th anniversary. The copper based formula which prevents algae growth in pool water for up to six months was first available in Britain 25 years ago and since then has sold over half a million bottles. The product is made in Australia and is distributed exclusively in the UK by Complete Pools Controls Ltd.

It has had a phenomenal success in the UK and in other parts of the world.

David Batchelor from the Australian parent company was at SPATEX in February where a special show offer was run on the product said: “Kleen Pool has just won such a loyal following in the UK it’s quite remarkable. The biggest benefit is that the product works and works consistently. It’s a one treatment a season solution and that’s what people want and like.

“All pools have problems with algae and although chlorine will help algae it is more costly and less efficient. It will kill most types of algae including green, mustard and black spot. The amount added to the water has a negligible effect on pH,” he added.

Organisers are keen to find out what went wrong.

“Did they not come because they had been to a road show? Perhaps they visited one of the bigger European shows? We need to find out why so many of our core visitors from previous years didn’t make it.” Of those who did attend pool installers were the biggest group followed by pool maintenance staff and retail shops.

SPATEX 2011 will be held at the Hilton Brighton Metropole in the first weekend in February next year.

Organisers are working hard to make sure next year’s event builds on the successes of this year.

After 2011 there is a question mark over the venue as the show finishes its current contract with the Brighton exhibition centre. The options beyond 2011 are still to be thrashed out. Some SPATEX board members are known to want to stay in Brighton – arguing the benefits of costs and that the south coast town provides the right facilities and services for an industry get together. Others will go on arguing for a move away and a fresh approach. Some will argue they believe a way forward is a show held every other year. Adds Michele Bridle: “All our focus is on 2011 and making it a bigger and better Brighton show.”

Gaffey Technical Services Ltd introduced its extended range of pumps and controllers at SPATEX.

Gaffey is the sole UK distributor of the Grundfos GP Series of pumps designed especially for domestic and smaller commercial pools.

Gaffey also had on show their Grundfos Pool-Pro hybrid pumps with Eff1 high efficiency motors (which are included in the Government’s ECA energy scheme). With the option of built-in variable speed control the Pool-Pro range offers the possibility of saving thousands of pounds in energy costs over the

lifetime of the pump. They also feature the Grundfos ‘pull out’ system for quick and easy maintenance, as well the excellent build quality you’d expect from Grundfos. In addition, Gaffey launched dinotec pool controllers – combined dosing and plant automation systems for domestic and commercial pools.

Andrew Gaffey, Sales Director said: “SPATEX proved the ideal opportunity to show managers and operators how the equipment can work for them and discuss the best solutions for their new projects or existing pool water treatment systems.”

Fairlocks Pool Products applauded the Brighton show as being a huge success for the company. “This year’s SPATEX was certainly a great one for us,” said Paul Webb from Fairlocks. “We liked the position we have at the exhibition and I think we made the most of our stand this year. In fact I don’t remember a time when we did not have anyone actually visiting with us. Having new products always attracts and the level of response we received was tremendous, particularly on our Covrex Automatic Slatted Pool Cover. It was an excellent start to 2010 for us.” Page 1  |  Page 2  |  Page 3  |  Page 4  |  Page 5  |  Page 6  |  Page 7  |  Page 8  |  Page 9  |  Page 10  |  Page 11  |  Page 12  |  Page 13  |  Page 14  |  Page 15  |  Page 16  |  Page 17  |  Page 18  |  Page 19  |  Page 20  |  Page 21  |  Page 22  |  Page 23  |  Page 24  |  Page 25  |  Page 26  |  Page 27  |  Page 28  |  Page 29  |  Page 30  |  Page 31  |  Page 32  |  Page 33  |  Page 34  |  Page 35  |  Page 36  |  Page 37  |  Page 38  |  Page 39  |  Page 40  |  Page 41  |  Page 42  |  Page 43  |  Page 44  |  Page 45  |  Page 46  |  Page 47  |  Page 48  |  Page 49  |  Page 50  |  Page 51  |  Page 52  |  Page 53  |  Page 54  |  Page 55  |  Page 56  |  Page 57  |  Page 58  |  Page 59  |  Page 60  |  Page 61  |  Page 62  |  Page 63  |  Page 64  |  Page 65  |  Page 66  |  Page 67  |  Page 68  |  Page 69  |  Page 70  |  Page 71  |  Page 72  |  Page 73  |  Page 74  |  Page 75  |  Page 76  |  Page 77  |  Page 78  |  Page 79  |  Page 80  |  Page 81  |  Page 82  |  Page 83  |  Page 84  |  Page 85  |  Page 86  |  Page 87  |  Page 88  |  Page 89  |  Page 90  |  Page 91  |  Page 92  |  Page 93  |  Page 94  |  Page 95  |  Page 96  |  Page 97  |  Page 98  |  Page 99  |  Page 100
