short documentary about the night near-perfection quite lit- erally did almost kill the Plano, Texas, native. The Dallas-based D Maga-


zine picked up the story shortly


after it broke in January, 2010. Bill Fong, an Asian-American bowler who has structured his life in exclusive devotion to the sport he loves, posted 35 con- secutive strikes on January 18,

2010, during a Monday night league session at Plano Super Bowl. The bowling lifer swears he


never thought about shooting a 900 series that night until the final frame of the final game. With a roaring crowd behind his pair, he trips out the 4-9 on the first shot, then blasts a flush strike on the second. It seemed he would do so again


with a great final shot, but, finally, the 10-pin withstood the blow, leaving Fong one pin short of perfection. But the story does not end
