THIS MONTH’S BOWLING MOMENT FROZEN IN TIME

GIRL POWER Team USA’s McEwan makes splash overseas. //////////////////////////////////////// March was quite a month for Team USA’s

Danielle McEwan. The former Fairleigh Dickinson standout bowled several star-studded tournaments in the Middle East before making a jaunt to Munich, Germany, to bowl the Brunswick Euro Challenge. Contending against the likes of PBA Tour titlists Mika Koivuniemi, Mike Fagan, Wes Malott, Dom Barrett, Tommy Jones, Osku Palermaa, and others, McEwan entered the finals of the H.H. Emir Cup as the No. 1 seed and finished 16th the following week in the Kingdom of Bahrain Open, both PBA Tour title events. She then placed 17th at the Kuwait International Open before posting a six-game set of 1400 in the opening qualifying block in Munich to claim second place in the overall standings. With or without the eight pins handicap awarded woman bowlers at these international tournaments, it’s still quite a statement by this rising star.
