The natural arena for new business
Jörgen Nyström explains why Elmia Nordic Rail is the Nordic region’s most important meeting-place for infrastructure issues.
he next few years will be a time of major investment for the Nordic countries. A dizzying one trillion Swedish kronor has been allocated for the national transport plans. The investments will be in roads, railways, bridges, bypasses, combi-terminals, technology and maintenance.
T
The decisions made by politicians have to be put into eff ect. When it comes to railway, Elmia Nordic Rail is the natural arena for new business.
Visitors come to see the latest products, innovations and services. They want to make
contacts, fi nd suppliers and business partners ahead of upcoming assignments. The fair brings together the entire Nordic railway industry. You will meet ’everyone’ involved in railway issues in one place.
Elmia Nordic Rail has been held since 1995 and is arranged every two years in Jönköping, Sweden (located in the heart of Scandinavia with Oslo, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Malmö and Gothenburg all within a radius of 350km).
Since the start, the numbers of visitors have increased signifi cantly, and the fair has developed into a meeting place that is for not only railway matters. Since 2007, Elmia Future Transport has been arranged at the same time. The fair focuses on the future of transport and intermodal solutions, and is a forum for visions and lobbying, and a place where logistics chains and transport networks are discussed.
In 2015, the event will grow furthermore. To give the meeting place a more holistic approach to infrastructure, a new fair, Elmia Nordic Road, will be held. The new Elmia Nordic Road complements Elmia Nordic Rail and creates an even more attractive meeting place. By off ering visitors a complete range of road and railway we will expand the visitor group and reach out to even more people. This generates further benefi ts for both exhibitors and visitors.
The meeting place comprises three fairs and a shared conference, which is one of the cornerstones of the trade show concept. At the conference, experts, industry representatives
