La Forêt d’Idéfix

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Parc Astérix near Paris has launched a new family-friendly area devoted to Idéfix (Dogmatix), the dog which appears in the popular Astérix cartoons

omprising five rides, two plays areas and a snack hut, the 5,000 square-metre La Forêt d’Idéfix is located just a stone’s throw away

from Parc Astérix’s Gallic Village (La Gaulle). The individual attractions are named after the druid friends of Getafix and their funny inventions. “The concept for the theming was chosen internally by the development team of Parc Astérix,” explains Julien Simon from the project development department of Compagnie des Alpes, the park’s parent company. “They then asked a designer called Denis Viougeas whose style fits very well with the Asterix universe, to created the druids for each attraction together with the jokes. He worked on the global look of the area and all the buildings, including the ride stations, F&B outlet and restrooms.” From Zamperla, Hyrdolix is a mini flume named after the druid who invented a machine to go up the river. Each boat seats up to two riders including both parent and child. The ride’s course features one friendly-but-wet drop.

The other four rides come courtesy of Zamperla. Étaminix (Barnyard) is devoted to the druid witch who

likes to stir her potions and features a lifting, whiling ride pattern. Aérodynamix (Magic Bikes) is an interactive ride where passengers fly higher the harder they pedal, Lavomatix (Jump Around) features bouncing tub-like gondolas while Enigmatix (Jumping Star) is a mini tower ride that takes its name from the druid who likes to invent machines that go up and down – even if he doesn’t really know what they might be used for! La Forêt d’Idéfix’s treehouse-style playground was supplied by the German company Kinderland, and there’s also a couple of fun slides nearby themed like logs. An additional attraction that winds is way through the forest is the park’s existing mini monorail.
