The Lost Temple Movie Park Germany “ W

e have created something that is unique,” remarked Wouter Dekkers, general manager of Movie Park Germany as he launched The Lost Jungle late last month. But he was honest enough to acknowledge that the new attraction, which features a motion base ride system by Simworx, was inspired by an existing experience in California (King Kong 360 3-D) – and that he believed his was better: “We have surpassed even the model at Universal Studios Hollywood and set new standards.” To create the attraction, which was realised in just 11 months, Movie Park contracted specialist firms from both the UK and USA.

Working alongside Simworx, for example, was Super 78 Studios. Lasting a full 15-minutes (including pre-show), the experience features an original storyline and media content (rather than a licensed intellectual property) and transports visitors at the park in North Rhine- Westphalia into an unforgettable prehistoric world.

Archaeologist Dr Jeffrey Carter greets explorers at the beginning of the expedition, which takes place inside the park's former Movie Magic halls, not that you'd recognise then thanks to the new theming. The action that follows takes place supposedly 700- metres beneath the earth. Here too there is an element of illusion at work, thanks to Simworx's Immersive Tunnel motion base, which simulates various movements as the

he Italian ride manufacturer Gosetto recently supplied the cars, track and theming for a new zombie-themed dark ride in Istanbul. Located at the Cehavir Mall, it is expected to form part

of the Fun Lab family entertainment centre and is due for installation any day now. Featuring interactive technology by Triotech, it features a storyline that pits the zombies against the police, with passengers shooting to defeat the bad

guys across themed scenes including a forest, farm, garden and house. Gosetto’s ride system features roughly 70 metres of track and a total of six 4-seater cars, each of which can rotate through 360° – handy for dodging those zombies. The company is also working a new multi- level dark ride, client name and more details to follow.

action unfolds on a 46m-long and 5m-high 360º screen that surrounds the 60-seater tram ride vehicle. 3D glasses and 4D-style effects add to the experience, more about which we will be able to reveal in the September issue of Park World.

In the meantime, Simworx is hoping for big things with the Immersive Tunnel, which brings such a multimedia experience within reach of 1 million+ attendance (and smaller) parks like Movie Parks for the first time. A second unit will soon go into operation at the new Cinecittá World near Rome.
