“I don’t think people yet realise how massive it’s going to be this summer. In 2007, cycling wasn’t even popular in the UK and it was absolutely incredible, the best Grand Depart there’s ever been. This year’s its going to be spectacular.” Mark Cavendish, talking exclusively to The Independent, January 22nd 2014.
“The focus on cycle safety is welcome – the safer the roads are for those on bikes, the safer they are for everyone. However, it has to be done in the right way, targeting those things actually implicated in the majority of accidents, not fringe issues in a group that some people happen to find irritating. “Sure, fine cyclists who jump red
lights, but please don’t be under any illusion as to what is causing the harm on our roads.” Laura Laker, writing in Cycling Weekly, January 22nd
“We are really excited about these new events in three of the best riding
locations in the UK. The venues are first class and the Cycling Plus team are already looking forward to a
chance to get in some early season miles riding with our readers.” Cycling Plus editor Rob Spedding, January 13th, on the launch of the
Cycling Plus Weekenders – sportive riding camps that begin this March.
