AS WELL BEING Skillset accredited, Staffordshire University has a formidable record for producing capable, industry-fit graduates. Previous students have being runners-up at the Dare to be Digital contest and the Make Something Unreal development challenge. And its alumni can be found at studios including Naughty Dog, Rockstar North and Playground Games. This year, its facilities has been
boosted by the opening of the Epic Games Centre (pictured), a new partnership between the university and the maker of Unreal Engine. Epic is providing hardware, teaching time and access to software and experts.
STUDIO GOBO
FOUNDED BY FORMERmembers of Disney-owned dev Black Rock Studios, the team at Brighton- based Studio Gobo renewed ties with Disney when it was brought on board to support the firm’s biggest video game to date. Working alongside Avalanche
Software, the Gobo crew developed the Pirates of the Caribbean content (pictured) for best-selling toy-game crossover Disney Infinity. It has also helped Codemasters on the F1 series. The studio is currently hiring
for its next project, and with reports spreading of a Disney Infinity sequel, don’t be surprised to see Gobo entrusted with another family favourite franchise.
