develop 100 EIDOS MONTREAL

HAVING PROVEN IT can rejuvenate forgotten franchises with 2011’s Deus Ex: Human Revolution, 2014 gives Eidos Montreal the chance to shine again with Thief (pictured), a reboot of the classic stealth series. The upcoming release has been designed to take the series back to its roots, while still competing with newer contenders to the stealth genre. Eidos Montreal also revealed

in October last year that work has begun on a transmedia follow-up to Human Revolution, Deus Ex Universe, which will encompass new generation consoles, PC, mobile, tablets, books and graphic novels.

EPIC GAMES

NOW THAT MICROSOFT has taken Gears of War off Epic’s hands, the long-running developer is free to concentrate on newer projects. One title we know it’s working on is Fortnite (pictured), the cartoony survival horror title that has barely been seen since its 2011 reveal – and who knows what other new IP it has underway? Epic’s work also continues on

the Unreal Engine. UE3 is helping to bring console-style games to smart devices, and can be found under the hood of upcoming console titles Thief and Murdered: Soul Suspect. UE4, meanwhile, is powering upcoming next-gen hits such as Fable Legends.
