WITH FLAGSHIP TITLE Puzzle & Dragons (pictured) finally available in the UK and other Western markets, all eyes will be on GungHo to firmly establish a foothold in the West. The Japanese mobile giant

has already said it intends to position itself as a “truly global” business, as evidenced by the 51 per cent stake it bought in Clash of Clans creator Supercell for $1.5bn last year. Rumours persist that GungHo

plans to move some of its operations to Finland in order to better liase with European territories and stay ahead of its competitors, but whether or not it will remains to be seen.

HAVOK

MIDDLEWARE FIRM HAVOK has been around for years, specialising in console games development through its suite of tools, including the Havok Vision Engine, Physics, Animation Studio, Destruction, Cloth and AI. While further announcements

can still be expected on that front, in November the firm released Project Anarchy (pictured), a free mobile game engine for developers of all sizes. The end-to-end development platform is all set to make a big impact in 2014, particularly amongst indies, and this year could see a flurry of new titles made with the tool.
