develop 100 FACEPUNCH STUDIOS
FACEPUNCH MADE ITS name with popular Source engine sandbox title Garry’s Mod, and more recently has become another success story for Steam’s Early Access system. In December 2013, the studio
released the alpha version of Rust (pictured), a survival game that draws inspiration from the likes of DayZ, Stalker. and Minecraft. Searching a deserted island, players must gather resources to keep themselves hydrated, healthy and fed, all the while fending off attacks from wildlife and other players. The game sold 150,000 copies
in its first two weeks, and made $7.5m in its first month on sale.

FIRELIGHT TECHNOLOGIES
Firelight Technologies is best known for its widely-used audio software FMOD Studio (pictured). The firm capped off 2013 as a
crucial part of the Xbox One launch line-up, having worked with Turn 10 on Forza Motorsport 5. Going forward, the team will no doubt be assisting other developers with the audio for their new-gen hits, particularly with FMOD Studio optimised for both Xbox One and PS4. The team is currently
integrating FMOD Studio with the widely-used Unity Engine, as well as adding support for Valve’s new Linux-based SteamOS and virtual reality headset Oculus Rift.
