EAL jumps on board the rail qualifications train
S
pecialist awarding organisation EAL is launching new rail qualifications in partnership with The National Skills Academy for Railway Engineering (NSARE).
This is the first time EAL has provided qualifications for the rail industry, having already established itself as a leading employer recognised awarding organisation for the manufacturing, engineering and building sectors. As part of its commitment to the
industry, EAL is investing in training for all of its full-time external verifiers (EV’s) who work in the rail sector. Julia Chippendale, managing director of EAL, said: ‘This is an exciting opportunity for EAL, building on our reputation and understanding of the engineering sector, to develop innovative
qualifications for the rail industry.’ Gil Howarth, chief executive of
NSARE, said: ‘We are pleased to be working with EAL on this exciting project, to help tackle current and future skills needs within the railway engineering industry.’
EAL and NSARE officially launched their first qualification recently, a Level 2 Certificate in Track Renewals, at an event in London. Further qualifications will follow. Visit

DeltaRail is Network Rail top supplier D
Earlier this year Arco announced its partnership with Gore, makers of the world-famous GORE-TEX® fabric, making Arco the only industrial distributor in Europe to hold a GORE- TEX® brand trademark licence for waterproof garments and footwear. As a result, the new Big Book will offer a new range of Arco branded hazardwear, weatherwear and footwear that uses GORE-TEX®. The range also features products with GO/RT hazardwear suitable for use in the rail industry as well as GORE-TEX Pyrad® products that are flame retardant.
Selecting safety products is easy with the return of the Arco ‘Safety Language’, a range of symbols designed to make product selection simple throughout the catalogue. In addition, Arco has improved its customer service and delivery options. To get a copy of the Arco Big Book catalogue, call your local sales office, visit your nearest Trade Counter or visit
