NorthWest region isUK’s self-tan capital


A survey has shown that freezing temperatures in recent years have coincided with a steady growth in the prestige bronzing and self-tanmarket.


The research conducted by global information company NPD Group Inc., discovered that the NorthWest of the UK was awash with people keen to add some sunshine to their skin all year round. In the prestige self-tanningmarket, the NorthWest bucked the national trend as sales of self-tanner grew by 4.2%year-on-year in 2012.


The survey also highlighted the rise in popularity of bronzing products with the segment rising 11.9%year-on-year to sales of over £13million. June Jensen, Director forThe NPD Group Beauty UK comments: “A rise of nearly 12%in sales of bronzing products during a recession shows that consumers continue to have significant appetite for a golden glow year round.”
