BECAUSE YOUR BUSINESS IS BUILT ON RESULTS
I think it is so important to ensure that your staff are following your rules and guidelines where this is concerned. Make sure that you spot check your staff with a ‘happy shopper’ so that while you are not around you know that your customers are always being greeted with a smile and treated with the respect that they deserve.
I unfortunately found it to be too common to walk into a new salon and not be treated the way we would like to be. For so many people, walking into a salon for the first time is such a big deal, you have this preconceived image in your mind that you won’t get treated well or that everyone is beautiful, either way new salons can be daunting and so the environment has to be relaxed warm, friendly and most importantly inviting.

The treatment of new customers can single-handedly set to ruin your business so keep a close eye on it.

For me, the other main point to be careful with is the telephone. For example, if your staff went out last night and have the hangover from hell (to be truthful I would send them home and make them take the day as a holiday) then their behaviour may not be up to usual standard and so answering the phone would be a big no-no.
/GuildNewsMag /GuildNews /GuildNews
This is often a new client’s first impression with your business, and if the person on the other end of the telephone is hungover, depressed, split up with their partner or for any other reason not in their usual bubbly mood, then this could have such a detrimental effect on your business and the way that people perceive your business. It would stop new clients from coming to you and have them going to your competition down the road.
I was always told to smile when answering the phone and although sometimes you may feel like a bit of a ‘plonker’ it really does make a difference to the way your voice sounds. Again spot checking your staff if you don’t have a receptionist would be a great idea.
And so my advice to you really is to ensure that your salon is always warm and welcoming no matter what the mood of you and your staff is because upsetting just that one client could potentially see the loss of not only one new potential loyal customer but all of their friends too.
Remember in business a bad word spreads far greater than a good one, don’t let this be the ruin of what you have worked so hard to build.

Scottish Beauty Show Preview Spring/Summer Nail Colours Everthing you need to know about Curing Lamps Retailing: Hand Creams Permanent Polishes New Product Launches
All-star team unveiled OPI team up with sporting heros.
The heady days of last Summer may feel like a distant memory but the legacy from the sporting events of 2012 continues to endure.
In celebration of the achievements women continue to make in sport, OPI has launched its new OPI GelColor campaign. Focusing on the theme of ‘Endurance’, it features four leading American female athletes; Gabrielle Douglas,MistyMay-Treanor, Danica Patrick and SerenaWilliams, all of whom continue to lead and inspire a generation.
Feel good, look good
When stepping into the sporting spotlight, female athletes are expected to be at the forefront of their game. Feeling great both professionally and personally has always been a winning combination. Luckily with the worlds of sport, fashion and beauty syncing more closely together over recent years, women competitors no longer have to sacrifice one area over another.
Nail art, in particular, has provided a way in which athletes can reflect their personality and femininity without any compromise on performance. In fact many of the 2012 Olympians were
regularly seen showcasing their nails on Twitter, sharing their patriotic inspired nail designs to thousands of followers. With gel polishes providing the wearer with durable and chip-free nails for two to three weeks, they have proven to be the perfect partnership for women in sport.
Girl power
