Introduction to the digital edition


Welcome to the new digital edition of the report. Throughout the report you will see the following icons:


and . Clicking on these will take you to either a graph or a map. As far as the


graphs are concerned that’s the end of the journey. However, all the markers on the maps link in to their specific record on the LRR database.


As always, we strive to look at the trends behind the data, but now for the first time we can visualise and interact with that data. To demonstrate, consider the map below. It contains over 3,000 markers. All are sites that have at one point been in the planning system but were either withdrawn, refused or simply lapsed; each site was once thought to have development potential, each one could have again. Without the details behind the locations the graphic would be fairly meaningless apart from demonstrating some fraction of the records on the database. Click on the icons, then on the markers and follow the link to the individual LRR record.


Updates to come


Following this report we will be producing regular updates on the residential market. These will include a detailed look at both the student and affordable housing situation in the capital. As a precursor to those reports click on the maps below to see the how the student and affordable housing pipelines looked at the end of 2012.

Download and work offline
