RAIL GOURMET FLYBE

SILVERSEA

Rail Gourmet 2U by Roger Williams

A new brand has been launched onboard by Rail Gourmet in Ireland called 2U, aimed at enhancing the café bar and at-seat offering. The brand was developed in response to the demands of the modern rail journey, where customers look to make more use of their journeys for work and personal entertainment and appreciate the service coming to them. Carrying more valuable items such as laptops also means customers have a lower propensity to leave their seat.

The 2U brand is registered worldwide and Rail Gourmet retail director Ciaran Foley said: “The service concept is a great way to engage customers onboard. We have links from the website, on station advertising and throughout the train journey with high recognition rates. Early results are positive and we are looking for opportunities to role out the brand onboard trains in other markets.” www.railgourmet.com

Flybe wins award Michelin star Jason cooks for Silversea

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has been recognised as the leading UK airline for the quality of its Deli in the Sky range of onboard food in Skyscanner’s annual European Airline Food Awards. The judges included over 550 European travellers acting as ‘food critics’ across all three of the chosen categories, coming second in the ’low-cost’ section to top-placed Turkish airline, Pegasus.

Simon Lilley, Flybe’s director of marketing commented: “We are naturally extremely pleased with this confirmation that the quality and selection of our on-board Deli in the Sky snacks are so much appreciated by our passengers. We work hard to make sure that the menu choices and value for money deals we offer are not only tempting but also regularly monitored and changed to both reflect evolving tastes and trends as well as being suitably seasonal.” www.flybe.com
