The name is new, but the reputation of the firm SorinRand is well established in the legal market- place.

The firm, which initially debuted in 2009, builds on the achievements of its predecessor, SorinRoyerCooper. Reflecting the firm’s entrepreneurial inclinations, Sorin himself was a finalist in the 2012 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards in New Jersey. He was also named one of the Top 100 Lawyers worldwide in 2012, by Lawyer Monthly, for his leadership in the emerging growth company marketplace.

Jay Rand, chair of the firm’s corporate practice, was named one of New York’s top startup company and venture capital lawyers. A former partner of Morrison & Foerster LLP, he also was national co-chair of the technology and venture law group at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips LLP.

Susan Goldsmith, chair of the technology transactions practice, was named to the World Trademark Review’s 2012 list of World’s Leading Trademark professionals. She worked previously at Duane Morris.

Joshua Epstein, managing partner of the New York office and chair of the litigation practice, recently was named a New York Super Lawyer.

George Nagle, previously co-chair of Saul Ewing’s tax practice, is chair of the firm’s tax practice and managing partner of SorinRand’s Radnor, PA office, while Jeff Marcus – a leading attorney in the areas of life sciences, securities law, and mergers and acquisitions – heads the firm’s life sciences practice. Marcus previously was a partner at Morrison & Foerster LLP and chair of its corporate department in New York.
