The inauguralWorld SpaAwards were announced at the Hilton Hotel in London's Park Lane recently.
TheAwards were developed to give recognition to the best of the best, which attracted 100s of entries fromacross the globe, and reward the passion, care and excellence in this Spa sector.
Lanserhof in Lans,Austria won the prestigious Destination Spa of theYear: Europe (excluding UK&Ireland), whilstThe Dolder Grand Spa in Zurich, Switzerland was named as Hotel Spa of theYear: Europe (excluding UK& Ireland).
Destination Spa of theYear:Middle East& Africa was presented to the Six Senses Spa at Zighy Bay in the Sultinate of Oman, whilst Hotel Spa of theYear:Middle East went to Assawan Spa&Health Club in Dubai. Hotel Spa of theYear:Africa was presented to One and Only Spa in CapeTown, SouthAfrica.
TheDestination Spa of theYear:Asia and Australasiawas awarded toKamalayaWellness Sanctuary&Holistic Spa,Koh Samui, Thailand,whilstTheOriental Spa atThe LandmarkMandarinOrientalHongKongwon Hotel Spa of theYear for the same region.
Destination Spa of theYear: North&South America was presented to Lapinha Spa, Lapa, Brazil, whilst Hotel Spa of theYear for this region went to SpaMontage Laguna Beach, California.
Entries for theWorld SpaAwards 2013 will open in the Summer.

Lynsey has over 10-years experience in the industry and she joinedTheMalvern as SpaManager in 2009.

A Spa development is to be built as part ofWyboston Lakes, the UK's largest independently owned single site specialist conference,management training and leisure destination, locatedmidway between Cambridge andMilton Keynes.
