Derby welcomed the sixthTanning Cabin store in theMidlands just a couple ofmonths ago and it was busy fromthe word go.With other cabins all over theMidlands including Burton- on-Trent, Oldbury, Stoke-on-Trent, Swadlincote andWednesbury, they have gradually expanded to become a well-known name.
The salon boasts eight tanning beds, four Flabélosmachines, one BeautyAngel, one spray tanning roomand two beauty therapy rooms, so with a variety of treatments on offer there is no wonder that they already have a loyal clientele.
One of themost poignant features of the Cabin is its décor and vibe. Decorated in luminous greens and pinks with an open ceiling andmusic pumping throughout it could easily be misjudged for a fashionable and trendy
bar.The subdued lighting and quirky details, such as a sunbed hanging fromthe ceiling and tables and chairs dotted around in the foyer,makesThe Tanning Cabin stand out.
Through their recruitment day ownersMark andTeresa Jackson hired six therapists who all underwent two weeks of training whilst two experiencedmanagers transferred over fromtwo of the existing stores.

How did the opening of the salon come about?
“We are always constantly on the look-out for new places and we had been looking around the Derby and Nottinghamarea and just by chance found this location. It is about the same size as our Burton salon but because it’s square it does seembigger.”
What is the ethos behind your salon?
“When we first openedTheTanning Cabin in Burton-on-Trent we set out to be the best sunbed shop in
Burton.As we grew and expanded to new locations we decided to aimto be the best in each area. Now, we want to be the number one tanning and beauty operator in theMidlands and strive to be number one in the UK.”
