Ergoline Sunbed hanging from the ceiling.
Why have you chosen the brands that you use?
“We have always strived to offer competitive prices, value and excellence in customer service. We are constantly working with suppliers to provide our clients with loyalty schemes and prices that are affordable to everyone as well as ensuring we have the best staff and systems available.”
What is your signature treatment?
“Tanning accounts for about 90 percent of what we do and what clients ask for. However, a lot of customers do come and have lots of different treatments and we have found that the Flabélosmachine is very popular with our clients who come for a tan.”
Did the launch of the salon in Derby meet your expectations?
“It completely surpassed what we thought it would do, we really have been blessed with good customers. With there being quite a large distance between stores we have found that some clients havemoved fromour Burton store to Derby because it’s closer to them.”
What do you think have been the key ingredients to your success?
“We are different and edgy and customers love that about us.You can either do something normal or challenge ideas and concepts and we are challengers, we want to knock people’s socks
off. Also, we work with a great teamof people who have great energy and I think that’s really important as business wouldn’t be business without all the staff and their efforts, as well as customer loyalty.”
What advice would you give to people wanting to run a successful salon?
“I would say the first thing is to enjoy it. We’ve naturally done what we’ve done; we never set out thinking we would grow as much as we have, it has just naturally happened.”

Being a salon that offers a variety of treatments I was set to have three of them. First I was scheduled in for a session on their newestmachine, the BeautyAngel that had only arrived the day before, this would be followed by a facial and finally a session on one of their Ergoline sunbeds.

I amgreeted by the friendly owners,Mark andTeresa, who showme around the salon and explain what each treatment entails.
TreatmentOne –The BeautyAngel
Mark showedme to the roomwith the BeautyAngel and explained how the systemuses light in special active ranges to rejuvenate the skin naturally by increasing the body’s production of collagen, elastin and HyaluronicAcid.
He toldme to sit down on themachine and when I was ready, to close the light screens over my face, to relax so that I received optimumresults.
To freshen the skin and combat the first signs of ageing, a course of 20 sessions over a period of twomonths is recommended, however after just one sessionmy skin felt plumper and softer.
TreatmentTwo – Comfort Zone Facial
I was then greeted by Rio who escortedme through the glass doors to the beauty area of the salon. Firstly she toldme to lie down and relax before beginning the Comfort Zone Hydramemory facial.
She began by cleansing and toningmy face and then exfoliatedmy skin before applying the Hydramemory hydramask that reintegrates the skin’s water content, fights skin ageing and renews elasticity. She then applied a Hydramemory serumand creamgel tomy face, neck and arms. Afterwardsmy skin feelt hydrated, soothed and relaxed.
TreatmentThree – ErgolineOpen Sun 1050
Having never been on a sunbed before I didn’t know what to expect but storemanager Hayley assuredme that the Open Sun 1050 would be a good option formy first time and due to the low levels of UVB it virtually eliminates the risk of burning whilst still creating a deep tan. She showedme to the room, cleansed and prepared the sunbed and carefully explained how I could adjust themusic and heat and handedme a pair of tanning goggles.
As I leftTheTanning Cabin I felt rejuvenated, relaxed and tanned and was thoroughly impressed with the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff.
