As one of the main foundry coating and resin suppli- ers in the world, Shengquan Group pays constant atten- tion to the industry’s development status and trends in order to adjust its product structure according to market demand and keep up with the pace of development. A representative from Shengquan Group recently

shared the company’s take on these trends with Global Casting Magazine.

What’s your view of world casting output growth? JZ: The metalcasting industry of the developed coun-

tries, represented by America, Japan and Europe (West- ern Europe), are influenced by labor cost, environmental protection pressure, scarcity of resources, and govern- mental policy, resulting in a low or negative growth rate. Newly-industrializing economies, represented by

China, India, Brazil, Russia, South Africa, Turkey, Mexico, Poland and Ukraine, are emerging gradually, and their metalcasting industries are growing as well. As the equipment, technology and industry develops in these countries, the foundry industry also will expand. The industrial transfer to and investment in these countries is by developed countries impel the growth. Meanwhile, the competitive product structure has

prompted the growth of casting output and volume of exports. Tese countries have gradually become the world’s factories and base of products. Te growth rate of the newly-industrialized countries is predicted to be more than 5% in the future. Less developed countries, represented by Indonesia,

Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, Iran, Columbia, Argentina, Pakistan and Bangladesh, would inevitably impel the development of their national automotive and machinery industries through foundry development, tak- ing advantage of their large populations, steady politics and favorable economic conditions.
