Advancements in metallurgy and process control have improved the prospects of ADI use in Chinese equipment.

Te global production volume of ADI reached nearly 300,000 tons in 2007, of which U.S. ADI production accounted for about 200,000 tons, Europe produced 25,000 tons and China made 60,000-80,000 tons (Table 1). About 45% of the ADI market is used in automotive

applications, particularly chassis parts for heavy trucks. In the U.S., at least 500 kg of ADI parts can be found in a single heavy truck. Extensive production experience and data have been gained through decades of manufacturing and applica- tion. ADI used to be a substitute material for already established designs, but modern design technology such as finite element analysis now is used to optimize designs according to ADI’s characteristic features and service conditions to reduce wall thickness and weight and save energy and materials.

held a conference of review on a national “austempered ductile iron castings standard” on Dec. 27, 2008, and issued the national standard GB/T 24733—2009 on Dec. 30, 2009.

ustempered ductile iron (ADI) has been sys- tematically researched and developed world- wide for about 40 years. Because of its advan- tages of high strength, good ductility, high

的发展经历了试验研究、开发应用和产业化生产三个阶 段。由于它具有强度高(最高可达Rm>1600MPa) 、塑性好(最大A%>11%)、动载性能高(弯曲 疲劳强度达420~500MPa,接触疲劳强度达1600 ~2100MPa)、耐磨性及吸震性好等许多优点,发展 很快,应用范围逐步扩大,产量不断增加。2007年世界 产量已近30万吨,其中美国最多,达20万吨,欧洲2.5 万吨,中国6~8万吨。ADI在北美和欧洲各行业市场分 配见表1。


从表1可以看出,ADI应用市场中,汽车占了主要位 置,约为ADI总产量的45%以上,特别是重型卡车的底 盘零件,应用很多。据介绍,美国每辆重型卡车中至少 有500公斤以上的ADI零件。


经过几十年的生产、应用,积累了丰富的生产经验和 数据。ADI的应用已由一般代用发展到按ADI的性能特点 及服役条件利用有限元分析等现代设计技术优化产品结 构,达到减小零件壁厚、减轻重量、节能节材的目的。


近年来我国ADI生产技术和产业化工作的进展


制定并颁布了“等温淬火球墨铸铁件”国家标准 2008年12月27日由全国铸造标准化委员会主持召开 《等温淬火球墨铸铁件》国家标准审查会,2009年11 月30日正式发布,标准号为GB/T 24733—2009。
