developed CADI grinding balls (measuring 40-150 mm) containing 10% carbides. After more than two years of service testing, the service life was shown to be one to three times greater than the former material (low chromium steel), electric consumption was decreased 10-20%, production efficiency was increased 10-20%, and noise during grinding was reduced 10-12 dB. One plant in Hebei Chengde produces tens of thou- sands of tons of CADI grinding balls using hard carbide spots and vanadium and titanium nitride. Qianxi Aodiai Mechanical Casting used 1400 ADI instead of high manganese steel to produce globe mill scaleboards with good results. Beijing Feimeite Machinery Co. Ltd. used 1600-1 ADI instead of QT800-2 to produce a biofuel baling press mold which was heat treated by A.P. Suzhou (now called Suzhou ADI). The mechanical performance has shown to be stable at 1600-3 or 1700-2 ADI, and small volume production has been launched.
Increasing ADI Use While more than 500 kg of ADI parts can be found
in one 20-ton heavy truck in the U.S., ADI parts are underused in China. In 2008, about 600,000 units were produced for the heavy truck market in China. Dongfeng Motor Co. Ltd., Wuhan Hubei, China, has used ADI instead of traditional cast steel to produce parts for a 5-ton high mobility cross-country vehicle. The metalcasting facility uses computer aided engineer- ing to design parts, strengthen and reduce the weight of the key parts and optimize the structure for good cast- ability and ductile iron mechanical properties. Compared with the traditional material, the total weight of 14 parts was reduced from 630.62 kg to 380.66 kg by converting to ADI. FAW’s Technology Center is actively research- ing ADI for backing plates in heavy mining vehicles. 与锻钢件相比,还可延长使用寿命,节省维修费用。 河北迁西奥帝爱机械铸造有限公司开发的 含碳化物10%左右的矿用球磨机CADI磨球 (φ40mm~φ150mm),经过二年多的使用试验, 效果明显,使用寿命比原用材料(低铬)提高约1~3 倍,磨球无失圆、破碎现象,且可使球磨机节电10% ~20%左右,生产效率提高10%~20%,降低噪音10 ~12分贝。河北承德某厂利用钒钛C、N化合物等硬质 点生产的CADI磨球,也取得同样效果,都进行了批量 生产,年产量万吨以上。迁西奥帝爱机械铸造有限公 司还用高牌号(1400以上)ADI代替高锰钢生产球磨 机衬板,也取得了意想不到的效果。北京菲美特机械 有限公司试验用牌号1600-1的ADI代替QT800-2生产 生物燃料压块机模具,在苏州A.P.公司进行热处理,力 学性能稳定达到1600-3,最高1700-2,取得较好的使 用效果,已小批量投产。
按ADI性能特点进行改进设计,充分发挥ADI材 质的潜力
据介绍,美国一辆20t以 上的载重车,ADI零件重量 在500kg以上,而国内ADI 零件的应用还不多,我国 2008年重型卡车产量达60 万辆,ADI的发展前景十分 广阔。
